GDS kept busy this month! The April showers in DFW didn’t slow us down, but we are definitely ready for warmer, sunny weather.

Glen Smith, our CEO and CIO, was interviewed this month for IBT, Barron’s, Market Watch, and the Schwab Network. If you missed these interviews, you can find them on our social media channels! Glen also represented our team in Boston at the Tiburon CEO Summit. The GDS commitment to lifelong knowledge and development is exemplified well through Glen.

On April 8th, our team members gathered together to watch the total solar eclipse outside of our office building. Despite the threat of cloudy skies, the weather was perfect, and we were all able to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event. We hope that you all were able to experience it, too. If you weren’t, feel free to check out some of the photos on our social media pages. We were able to get some great pictures!

In honor of Earth Day this month, our team pledged to plant a tree for every new investment account that was opened in April. Thanks to all of our wonderful new clients, we were able to plant 74 trees! We look forward to watching those trees grow and mature over the coming decades, and we are grateful for your support in making a positive impact on our environment.

GDS rounded out April with a wonderful time at Billy Bob’s Texas, where we enjoyed team bonding time and a fun-filled evening. Our team members got to watch a bull-riding competition – a first for many of us! – and listen to Chris Young perform a sold-out concert. In addition to the scheduled activities, team members also took a spin two-stepping and posing for pictures with classic country music icon memorabilia. It was a great night and a great reminder of why we love working here. It’s truly the people who make it so special.

Speaking of our team members, we have also recently completed a few new hires on both the operations and advisory fronts. Keep an eye out for some new faces! We will be highlighting each of our new team members over the next few months as they officially join our team.

We’re looking forward to seeing what May will bring! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our office today at (469) 212-8072 or visit www.gdswealth.com to connect with us. One of our team members would be delighted to speak with you.
