How Our
Process
Works
We don’t skip steps, and we don’t move ahead until we know what you care about most and why. Building that relationship takes time, but it matters.
When that foundation is strong, the plan lifts you up.
To help Stryker employees evaluate their financial situation, GDS offers a complimentary financial review.
GDS generally requires $1 million in investable assets to establish an advisory relationship but currently offers a reduced $500,000 minimum for Stryker employees.
We’ll have a short conversation where we get to know you, what brought you here, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. We’ll also walk you through how we work, so you have a clear sense of what to expect.
You share your goals, your priorities, and what success looks like to you, so we can shape an approach that reflects your life. This is where we take the time to understand the full picture before any decisions are made.
We walk through a clear plan together, giving you space to ask questions, make adjustments, and understand how everything connects. Nothing moves forward until it feels right and holds up to careful review.
Once everything is aligned and you decide to move forward, we begin implementing your plan. From there, the relationship continues through regular meetings, so you’re never left to navigate things on your own.
We’ll have six checkpoints throughout the year, including quarterly phone calls, a semi-annual account review, and two formal reviews to make sure everything is running smoothly and your plan is working hard for you.

Questions we often hear.
No. GDS Wealth Management is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Stryker. We independently serve individuals and families who are looking for fiduciary financial planning and wealth management guidance.
Yes. If company stock, RSUs, ESPP participation, stock options, or other equity compensation are part of your financial picture, we can help you evaluate how that exposure fits into your broader plan. That may include diversification, concentration risk, retirement timing, tax considerations, and how much of your long-term wealth is tied to one company.
Yes. We can help you evaluate how your workplace retirement plan fits into your broader investment strategy, retirement income plan, and tax picture. If you are retiring, changing jobs, or considering a rollover, we can walk through the options and help you understand what may make sense for your situation.
Many professionals benefit from deeper planning 5–15 years before retirement. That is often when decisions around savings, investments, taxes, healthcare, equity compensation, income planning, and family priorities become more connected. Planning earlier can help you see what is on track, what may need attention, and what decisions should not be left until the last minute.
Yes. In many cases, planning is more helpful when your spouse or partner is part of the conversation. Retirement timing, income needs, estate decisions, family priorities, and long-term goals often affect the household, not just one person. We want both of you to feel informed and included.
GDS provides tax-aware financial planning, but we do not provide legal or tax advice. We can help identify areas where taxes may influence your financial decisions and coordinate with your CPA, attorney, or other professionals so your planning is considered with the full picture in mind.
