Glen Smith grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the son of missionary parents—an upbringing that shaped how he sees money: not as a measure of success, but as a responsibility to steward well. That belief became the foundation for GDS Wealth Management, the firm he founded after serving as a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch.

As CEO and CIO, Glen holds the CFP® and CRPC® designations and brings over two decades of industry experience to a firm built on service, integrity, and accountability. He’s been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, CNBC, and more, with appearances on Fox Business, BBC News, and BNN Bloomberg—and since 2019 has been named to Forbes’ Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list. In 2020, Glen became a Registered Player Financial Advisor through the NFLPA Financial Advisor Program.

Glen lives in Flower Mound, Texas, with his wife, Gisella, and their children, Nathalia and Lucas, where the family is active at RockPointe Church. He stays connected to his roots, too—supporting organizations in Guayaquil that provide meals and resources to malnourished children. When he’s not working, you’ll find him on the tennis court, traveling with his family, or at one of his kids’ games.
