Ross Mortensen

Ross is a knowledgeable and dedicated Financial Planner who brings extensive experience to GDS Wealth Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Before entering the financial sector, Ross taught middle school math, a role that reflects his strong communication skills and commitment to helping others.

Since transitioning into finance, Ross has built a solid foundation in the industry and continues to contribute meaningfully to the GDS team. He focuses on developing financial plans that reflect each client’s unique needs and circumstances. Ross takes the time to understand his clients personally, fostering a collaborative approach to financial planning.

Ross also specializes in financial planning for individuals in the fields of sports and entertainment. He offers valuable insights and experience in working with professional athletes and others in these industries, helping them shape financial strategies aligned with their goals. His approach is centered on equipping clients with clarity and confidence as they work toward their envisioned financial future.

Ross and his wife, Shelby, have three children: a son, James, and twin daughters, Isla and Andi. Their family also includes a bulldog named Rosie and a cat named Roxie. In his free time, Ross enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. A Mortensen family favorite destination is Disney World, and one of Ross’s personal favorite trips was to Barcelona.
