Tim Allin, CFP®, CEPA®

Financial Advisor

Tim graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Chinese Language and Literature, along with a minor in Business. After graduating, he moved to China, where he lived for four years while coaching and playing tennis. Since then, Tim has spent over a decade working in the business world and now works with families and individuals on financial planning strategies tailored to their goals and circumstances.

Tim recognizes the importance of trust and long-term relationships when working with a financial advisor. He and his wife were GDS Wealth Management clients for several years before Tim joined the GDS team. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Tim works with clients to develop financial plans designed to reflect their stated goals and priorities.

Tim and his wife, Fei Fei, have two children—TJ and Joey. The family also has a German Shepherd/Akita mix that only responds to commands in Chinese. In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with his family and visiting local attractions like the zoo and aquarium. If Tim is not working or with his family, you can usually find him playing racquet sports—tennis, pickleball, ping pong, and padel. He is undefeated in tennis against GDS CEO and CIO, Glen Smith.
