Join GDS Wealth Management as our Human Resources (HR) Director and lead the development and execution of our people strategy. You will support the firm’s mission by sourcing top talent, managing first-round interviews, overseeing employee programs, and ensuring HR practices align with Texas employment law, SEC compliance culture, and GDS core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive HR plans to support the company’s growth and operational objectives.
  • RIA/Financial Services HR Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of HR practices and compliance in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or financial services industry.
  • Texas Employment Law Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Texas employment laws and all relevant regulations, maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
  • Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition: Source, attract, and screen candidates for all roles, especially financial planners and operations staff, ensuring a robust pipeline of talent with RIA industry experience.
  • First-Round Interviewing: Conduct initial interviews to assess candidate fit, experience, and alignment with GDS core values.
  • External Recruiter Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external recruiters and staffing agencies, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality candidate flow.
  • Employee Relations & Program Management: Oversee internal employee programs, including onboarding, training, development, performance management and wellness initiatives.
  • Grievance Handling: Manage employee grievances, conflict resolution, and investigations with professionalism and discretion.
  • HR Analytics: Analyze HR metrics and trends to inform strategic decisions and drive organizational success.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills with employees, leadership, and external partners.
  • Innovation: Adapt to industry changes, innovate, and continuously improve HR processes and employee experience.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or director-level position within the RIA or financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Texas employment law and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent for RIA roles.
  • Experience managing relationships with external recruiters and staffing agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, grievance handling, and internal program management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
